Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old ancestry. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the west in an excellent game for new players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the casino, unlike nearly all other poker games that gamblers compete with other players. By betting against the dealer, new players don’t have to fret about other, more advanced players winning their moolla.

Another Pai Gow advantage is the fairly slow game play, novices should be able to take their time and plan while not having to make quick selections.

It is also much simpler to participate in for a very long time with just a little bit of money seeing as, to not win, each of your hands must be under both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card common deck and a single joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the croupier is given seven cards face down.

One 5 card hand and one 2 card hand must be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be better than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
